(My sister, Allison, and her daughter as an angel in the reading of the Christmas story)
(My nephews as a shepherd and a donkey…the one with slippers tied to his head is the donkey)
(Brandon and I with our Christmas sweaters)
(the Bride and me)
(Brandon, Karona, and Ben)
(the ladies)
(Mr. and Mrs. Peter Morrow)(The picture of Brandon’s dad with a coffee cup is perhaps the most extraordinary moment of our vacation… his first cup of coffee in 3 years. He rang in the new year with a cup of joe. Welcome back to the fold!)

After 17 days we are back in Chicago. We were both on Holiday break so we left Chicago for the entire time. We spent the first week with my family celebrating Christmas. We had three Christmas celebrations, saw lots of family, ate tons of food, and laughed! We then headed to Minneapolis for a few days. We stayed with Brandon’s brother and his family. It was fun to connect with them and catch up. We were there for the wedding of my dear friend Sarah. Sarah and Peter got married! It was a beautiful wedding! We had an awesome time catching up with college friends.
We then traveled to be with Brandon’s Grandpa and family. We spent the week in Guttenberg. It was so relaxing. We slept, read, and talked. We are both very grateful for a few weeks to slow down and enjoy the people we love.
Here are some pics of our time.

A Great Saturday

May 20, 2007 · 3 Comments

Brandon and I both had a wonderful Saturday enjoying the perfect weather. Brandon golfed 36 holes of golf. He golfed with our brother-in-law and they walked all 36 holes. I think they decided that 36 holes is a bit much if you decide to walk it.

I spent the day with my sister. We went to the Lake and sat in the sun talking and reading. We went out to dinner and then watched a chick flick. It was a relaxing, fun day. It was one of the first that actually felt like summer. I look forward to many more.

Tired!

January 28, 2007 · 3 Comments

We are in Des Moines this weekend. We came to assist my parents with my niece and nephews. Not that my parents are not fully capable, because they are. They have been watching my sister’s kids for a week while she is on vacation with her husband. My parents leave Monday morning for their own vacation so Brandon and I came to give them time to get things done before they go.
Caring for three kids who are five years old and under is exhausting. Josh, Jake, and Haley are really fun children who had us laughing all day! While we are both tired tonight, and it is only 10, we are so glad we came.

UPDATE:
It wasn’t a matter of exhaustion it was a matter of infestation. Some little bug has infested Abe’s body. I haven’t seen her this ill in our entire marriage. By the time we got home last night, she was in a miserable state. Much of the same today. But I pray that she is on the mend now. I’m wondering if it’s something about the DSM. Upon conclusion of our last visit there, we both came down with something. I sure hope not, because I LOVE THAT CITY.

Happy Belated Dad and Mom!

January 20, 2007 · No Comments

My parents turned 53 this last week. Not only do they share the same birthday, but they were born the same year. Usually, I send one card for them. That seemed cheap, so this year I sent my parents separate birthday cards. I also thought of this well in advance and knew that they would receive them on time, if not early! Well, thanks to the magnificent Chicago mail system only my Dad got his card. My mom’s arrived later, or so I hope? So much for trying to be on top of things in ‘07.

They are a really amazing couple. I miss living close to them. Happy Birthday you two!
